Go Carterton have launched a business mapping project to support our kaupapa of being the voice for Carterton businesses. We are aiming to interview 200 businesses to hear about business aspirations, challenges and business confidence.
Once we have gathered this information, we will have a comprehensive and up-to-date database of businesses within the Carterton District which will serve as an invaluable resource for networking, collaborating, planning, supporting and advocating.
If you are a business owner and interested in participating in this project, we would love to hear from you!
We are hoping to meet most business owners in person, for a brief 15 minute chat - and we’re happy to come to you at a time which suits your schedule.
Please schedule a time with us, or complete online by 30th April 2021. Make sure to stay up to date with this project by joining the Go Carterton mailing list.
1. What will this information be used for?
This information will be used by Go Carterton to build a comprehensive and up-to-date database of businesses within the Carterton District which will serve as an invaluable resource for networking, collaborating, planning, supporting and advocating.
2. Where will the information be stored?
Information gathered will be held in an encrypted, password protected file with strict rules surrounding access.
3. Who will have access to the information?
The only person who will be able to access the information once the database is complete is the Go Carterton Coordinator (Lou Newman). Information from the database will be exported to generate high-level reports such as the top challenges businesses are facing, however business names will never be included.
4. How can Go Carterton use this information to support my business?
We can be your voice, your advocates and your champions. If we see trends in challenges we can advocate to groups such as the council. We can also be the connector between your business and groups such as the Mayors Taskforce (support with finding new building spaces, or help with recruitment), help you to expand your network including identifying other businesses you may like to collaborate with (local suppliers and contractors). We can also make sure we support you with marketing opportunities along the way, such as hosting a page for your business on our website (www.cartertonnz.com).
5. How can I participate in the project?
We are collecting information through a questionnaire, which you can complete online anytime before March 15th, or by completing in-person with Lucy. We are hoping to meet as many business owners and complete the questionnaire together (schedule an appointment at a time which suits)
6. Do I need to be a member of Go Carterton to participate in this project?
No, you do not need to be a Go Carterton member to complete the questionnaire and participate in this project. There are benefits to becoming a member though, which we will be happy to discuss with you during your interview.
7. How long will this project go for?
The project will wrap-up at the end of March, however the questionnaire will only be available until mid-March. Lucy will spend a couple of weeks working on the database, and generating high-level reports of any trends and common challenges.
8. Who can I contact about this project?
Lucy Adlam is the Project Manager for the Business Mapping Project - email Lucy at firstname.lastname@example.org or call on 020 4130 8853.
